On Friday 21st March, Claire's uncle Johnny was married to Stacie. The wedding and reception were held at the Orton Hall Hotel in Peterborough. We went down for the Thursday and Friday, travelling back on the Saturday. The sun was shining, which is always a help for a wedding.
The wedding service was held in a long room in the hotel, probably called the Gallery or something, with windows down one side. The bride entered to the singing of "Perfect Day", and seemed to be enjoying her day.
After the service there was plenty of time for photographs in the hotel grounds.
At the reception, we had a lovely meal. The main course was from a buffet, with plenty choice, and the wedding cake was cut.
As the evening progressed the dining room was turned into a dance room, and the disco started. After a while, Johnny was given a surprise birthday present, a singer who played and sang some old anthems by Deep Purple and others.
A fun time was had by all.
